Delicate colors and shades are produced by many procedures.
Each cut of the block and every movement of the "baren" expresses the spirit of the printer.
Many colors are printed over and over again until the final printed work is created.
A red is printed to enhance the finished roof color.Up to this point there have been five printings.
The green is now printed on the roof.
Then a scratched block is printed to give the sense of depth of the thatching. This is the 7th printing.
Next comes the grey below the roof, and the 9th printing is the red of the rug.
[a] The yellow block.
[b] The dark yellow block.
● Printing - Japanese handmade paper is placed over the painted block and rubbed with a "baren"-a flat hard disc covered with Bamboo bark.
